U.K. Man Builds The Worlds Smallest CarNevermind the Smart ForTwo, here¡¯s a little red Postman Pat car - supposedly a well-known toy among kids in Europe. And it¡¯s now a the petrol burning, environment polluting, real deal. Perry Watkins, a 47 year-old man in the U.K., gutted the plaything, added a steel frame to the fiberglass shell and propped it all up with the chassis from a quad bike. It¡¯s powered by a 150cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine that powers the rear wheels. Though the machine won¡¯t be keeping up with traffic, its working headlamps, taillights, windshield wipers, horn and turn signals have enabled it to become fully street legal in Britain. The small displacement engine reportedly returns 113km every 4.5 liters of petrol and is capable of a top speed of 65km/h. Standing at just 39 inches tall and 26 inches wide, the Perry Watkins creation is yet to be recognised as the world¡¯s smallest car, but we don¡¯t think there will be a problem attaining that title. source: www.zerotohundred.com
