Classic 1954 Mercedes-Benz Gullwing Receives The Bathing Ape TreatmentThis one¡¯s for all BAPE fans out there, though the car might not be available for sale or neither will any one of us average joe¡¯s be able to afford a BAPE designer to design the paint job of our cars but if you were a BAPE designer yourself, this is what you could and probably should do. The classic Mercedes 300SL Gullwing you see here belongs to BAPE designer Nigo. The Japanese fashion icon has given the BAPE treatment to some of the most expensive automobiles on the marketing, including a camo¡¯d Rolls-Royce Phantom and a pink Bugatti Veyron. But now, after laying hands on Volkswagen¡¯s Bugatti and BMW¡¯s Rolls-Royce, Nigo has forked over his stylish cash to Mercedes-Benz tuning division AMG for a modern riff on a classic 300SL Gullwing. The car started its life as a 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300SL but in true modern fashion has undergone an engine swap to place a modern 6-liter V8 under the hood. It¡¯s not known what styling tweaks have been carried out besides the paint scheme but don¡¯t expect a BAPE designer to stop at just that. Want one? I do. source: autoblog , www.zerotohundred.com
